Product positioning
TMB's products positioning is based on a principle substitution of imported bearings. China is a big exporter of small or middle-sized and lower grade bearings. But high-tech, high value-added and non-standard bearings which are more expensive and often used are still relied on importing. This caused the deficit of our import and export balance. So TMB decided to position their products on bearings characterized by high-tech, high value-added, high reliable, high precision, low vibration, low noise and low friction.
In TMB, over 100 new products can be developed and put into mass production every year. Their guiding line is "to complete new products' developing, production and profit in the same year". So far 19 of their products have been patented and they also built up their own intellectual property right system. Now their characterized products can be classified into 9 classes about 1500 types such as cylindrical roller bearings, deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, spherical plain bearings, auto bearings, railway bearings, motor bearings etc.
The company also have some products with high profitability, such as high precision roller bearings, railway speed upgrading bearings, large precision low-noise bearings, auto hub bearings and presicion cold rolling steel, precision bearing tube steel etc. Annual output of these products account for one-third of the company's total. TMB ranked first in production and sales of cylindrical roller bearings in China; third of railway bearings.
Advanced equipments and craft
In the latest 5 years, TMB has invested RMB300 million to carry out technical innovation and transformation. They optimized every procedures in the production, like material, lathing, heat treatment, fine grinding, quality test etc. Now they have dozens of automatic production line of international or domestic leading level. TMB had introduced a set of bearing ring cold rolling equipments from Germany, which is used for the middle or large-sized bearing ring's rolling.
Acquisition
TMB never forget to seize every opportunities for their further development. Acquisition is the way they adopted. TMB purchased Chengdu Bearing Group in 2002, Hangzhou Elevator Plant in 2003, Sichuan Gearbox Plant in 2004. As a result, TMB has formed a large private group company with 5 manufacturing plants, 13 distributing company. Their enterprise scale has become the fourth largest in China, comprehensive economic norms ranked first.
