Profile
The fine-grain martensitic steel used in Hartford chrome steel balls
is the result of years of experimentation and analysis in search of
the best material for bearing use. This steel has high hardness and
exceptional surface characteristics. It is an excellent material for chrome
steel balls in load-bearing applications, and in applications as diverse as
food grinding systems, vibratory finishing, plating baths, linear motion
components, and check valves.
Other applications that are ideal for chrome balls manufactured by
Hartford include tumbling media, spray can agitation, ball bearings,
drawer slides, writing instruments and locking mechanisms.
If you manufacture valves, Hartford has extensive capabilities and
expertise for the design and manufacturing of balls for valves.
Characteristics
52100 chrome steel balls demonstrate high hardness, resistance to
deformation, and excellent wear characteristics. Chrome balls from
Hartford are manufactured from the highest quality chrome alloy electric
furnace steel, and through-hardened for maximum strength and service
life. Our SPC process assures highest dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
