Pressed steel or machined brass cages are generally used, but sometimes molded polyamide cages are also used.
Cylindrical roller bearings are designed to have heavy radial load carrying capacity; Rolling elements are ground to provide maximum contact with the raceway and are precisely crowned to avoid edge loading due to any shaft misalignments.
