The features of pillow block bearing

The internal structure of the insert ball bearing is the same with that of deep groove ball bearing. But the inner race of this bearing is wider than the outer race. The outer race has the spherical surface. Insert ball bearings can self aligning with the fit between the outer race and the bearing block. Insert ball bearings are compact. Pillow blocks bearings are actually the pillow blocks fitted internally with bearings so there is no need to buy extra bearing for the same. Pillow blocks bearings take lesser load as compare to other bearings in the industry. Although pillow block bearings are also known as plummer blocks but there is some difference between the two as later is used in the industry that works on higher load and works in corrosive environment. Pillow block bearing works in very clean environment.

From inside pillow blocks bearings are quiet similar to deep groove ball bearings. But basically both these types of bearings work in similar manner allowing the outer ring to remain stable while the inner ring rotates.
