2201 Self Aligning Ball Bearing

Abstract:

2201 Self-aligning ball bearing is recommended when alignment of the shaft and housing is difficult and the shaft may flex. The outer ring has a spherical raceway and its center of curvature coincides with that of the bearing; therefore, the axis of the inner ring, balls and cage can deflect to some extent around the bearing center. Pressed steel cages are usually used.

Features:

The 2201 self-aligning ball bearing are made of an inner ring, an out ring, two rows of balls, and a cage. Usually the outer ring of the bearing has a sphere raceway.

1. This kind of bearing is consequently self-aligning and insensitive to angular misalignments of the shaft relative to the housing.
