The inner ring of spherical roller bearings have two raceways, outer raceway is a part of a sphere, whose curvature center is on the axis of bearings. This type of bearings possesses self-aligning performance, allowing the misalignment of shaft, and can also be used under certain permanent misalignment.
These bearings are able to carry higher radial loads, as well as certain axial loads, but can’t be used to carry pure axial loads. The osculation between rollers and raceways is high, and friction is higher than cylindrical roller bearings. Therefore, the limiting speed is lower.
This type of bearings is especially suitable to the heavy or vibrating load applications.
The type 20000C bearings have symmetrical rollers and pressed steel cages, no rib on inner ring, rollers are longer, load carrying capacity is high, and rollers are guided by a floating guide ring.
The type 20000CC bearings are the modified type to type 20000C, the friction between rollers and raceway is decreased, load carrying capacity is enhanced.
The type 20000CA bearings adopt symmetrical spherical rollers and machined solid cages, they have floating guide ring and integral ribs on inner rings.
The type 20000TN1 bearings use symmetrical rollers and nylon molded cages, no integral ribs and floating guide ring on inner ring, the cages are guided by rollers.
The type 20000CC, 20000CA and 20000TN1 bearings are developed in recent years and their internal design are optimized, should give priority to be used.
